Sean Maier

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Sean is a senior associate on WestRiver Group’s Technology fund. He focuses on identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, as well as supporting portfolio company operations.

Prior to joining WestRiver in 2022, Sean was a senior associate on the technology practice at Seattle-based Meridian Capital, where he worked with clients on buy- and sell-side M&A, recapitalizations, growth equity, and strategic advisory mandates.

Sean earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship, from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Sean played for the UW Men’s Club Lacrosse Team and was a team captain his senior year. During his final year of undergrad, Sean interned for Ignition Partners, an enterprise software VC firm based in Seattle and Silicon Valley. He concurrently interned part-time at Ignition Portfolio company, KenSci, an artificial intelligence and machine learning risk prediction platform for healthcare. Sean is also a board observer at Tagboard, Cheq, and Tectonic.
